Not so long ago, when people discovered how I run my own home based business, they would ask, "Can you teach me how to do that?"
Back then, I would have to answer, "Probably not".
You see .. with that business, we had to create our own technology, set up our merchant accounts, write hundreds of thousands of lines of code, design and build web pages, create redundant systems, create replicated web sites, and then start spending a lot of money on marketing in the HOPES that someone would need/want/purchase what we were offering. I would have to charge 6 figures just to start the consulting work on something like that!
These days, I'm happy to say, "Yes. Yes, I can teach you how to do this.". All the technical stuff has been done for us. All the infrastructure has been built and deployed.

The "Way-Back" Attic
Memories are cool sometimes when it comes to seeing how much has changed so drastically in ones
lifetime. The theme parks we know today were either infants or still dreams. In 1960, Disneyland had only been open for 5 years. The Six Flags theme parks would not be seen until August of 1960. Sea World was non existent and the space race was just beginning. The world had only tapped into the law of thrust and lift 47 years before and soon the world would be flying all around outer space.. Even television had only been around since 1939 but had one channel that was only on air for a few hours a day. There was the Jack Paar show...forerunner to The Tonight Show...Show of Shows, Kukla, Fran and Ollie and the Lawrence Welk Show and that was about it. The rest of the time was a test pattern on air, which many reading this have never even seen! It was not color either! A common site for those lucky enough to have a TV in their house was always adorned with "rabbit ears" with tin foil stretched between the antenna. Our computers and calculators were a pencil and a Big Chief tablet..the elite genius had a slide rule...what is that, right? Our gameboys were cardboard folding panels with plastic pieces and a spinner. Movie matinees on Saturdays were only 10 cents and a child could stay there entertained all day long..adults too! Included were news reels, cartoons, serials like the Lone Ranger or the Cisco Kid and of course the Double Feature. Interesting to look back and see how much things have changed and how quickly!

Doomsday Shelter Coming to Kansas
Think the end of the world is near? May as well live it out in luxury. An old cave, once used as a government storage unit, will soon be the world's largest Doomsday shelter in Atchison, Kansas.
The Doomsday resort will have room for 5,000 people living in up to 1,500 RV's.
Customers will buy a spot for $1,000 per-foot for their vehicle, plus a $1,500 dollar charge per-person for a years worth of "provided" food and toiletries.
The complex will have indoor golfing, a bowling alley and a swimming pool complete with all the perks.
The rich must be saved! Sounds like a panic to me...but is their money to do with as they wish. One thing I do not understand...the price has been paid already..why worry about rent? John 3:16
Expected to open in August of 2014.

Watermelon Oreos Are Real And On Sale
The folks at Oreo must be going flavor-happy!
“We chose Watermelon because it is a fun, summer flavor that goes great with the Golden OREO cookie,” Oreo spokesperson Kimberly Fontes.
I looked up 'abominations' in the dictionary and there was a picture of watermelon oreos.
No thanks...think I'll pass!

Yet another stupid idea!
The proposed "Blindfold" bill!
The Democrats in the New York City Council have sponsored a new bill that not only handcuffs the police, but will “blindfold” them and send crime rates soaring as well.
This insane but yet politically correct bill will ban cops from identifying a suspect’s age, gender, color or disability.
If passed, though, the bill would require police to use little more than the color of a suspect’s clothing in descriptions — or risk being sued for profiling.
The bill is on a fast track – it’s being sent straight to the floor for a vote versus going through the normal committee process.
The Council’s democrats said the new law would “only expand the city’s existing racial-profiling law by adding other demographic groups that should be protected, such as the homeless and gay people.”
But police unions are fighting back hard with a new ad campaign set to launch this week.
Historically, when a bill like this is passed, a window opens that migrates throughout the entire country...all states following suit.
I guess the new way possibly coming in fighting crime will be "Be on the lookout for someone wearing blue jeans".

4 Ways to Promote Your Blog Using E-mail Listings
When it comes to survival in blogosphere, it's all about connections. All those links and good word thrown in by happy and loyal readers and visitors do wonders for promoting your blog and spiking its traffic. And then, there are those e-mail listings – e-mail addresses and names of people who just might be interested in becoming regular recipients of information and news from you. If you want to give your blog a fighting chance, here are 4 tips on how to promote your blog using e-mail listings:
Target, target, target.
If you have to start promoting your blog now, then start right. Carefully determine your 'market' – the type of readership you want to focus on and the type of visitors you want to bring in. This can vary greatly, depending on the main theme of your blog.
Look at your main subject and the sub-topics you regularly write about. Who would want to read your blog on a regular basis? What kind of topics would they want to find in your blog? Once they find their way to your site, would they stick around and look at your other entries?
Would they participate in any polls, discussion boards and forums you might offer or at least leave a comment? Furthermore, would the people in your e-mail listings be willing to promote your blog to others or mention it on their own blogs? With a targeted e-mail listing, the answer to these questions is a resounding yes.
The point here is simple: the market for your blog is already out there. It's now up to you to let them know who and what you are and where they can find you. By focusing on promoting your blog to highly targeted e-mail listings, you can avoid marketing to that segment of blog visitors that: a) are totally uninterested in what your blog has to offer, b) are only partly interested and cannot be relied on to stay for long and c) have vague interests and may or may not be willing to participate or sign up for your promotions.
Offer relevance at all times
If you are unable to use relevance in your invitations, it will be like throwing thousands of invitations to a violin concerto in a gym full of wrestling fans. You probably could hit a few bull's eyes and some might be even willing to give your invite a try but the meager results will not compensate for the sheer effort and resources you will be using.
Avoid wasting your precious energy by ensuring that when you promote your blog using e-mail listings, it will be relevant enough for the recipients to respond positively to.
Be clear about your motives
The people who belong to your e-mail listings may be very familiar with the industry by now. When promoting your blog, make sure you state in clear terms what the blog is about, what subject(s) will be offered and how they can respond.
Don't hide behind vague terms or try to be mysterious. Remember that your e-mail list has plenty of other options out there, blogs that are willing to state their offerings in clear, understandable language.
Allow your e-mail listings the freedom to opt out
So maybe you've garnered some terrific responses from your initial foray into opt-in subscriptions with your e-mail listing to promote your blog. Does that mean risking a percentage of that number to unsubscribe by offering an opt-out option? Definitely.
Allowing new members obtained from your e-mail listings to opt-out is not only polite, it also shows professionalism on your part. Withholding the opportunity for subscribers to unsubscribe is considered rude and makes you seem desperate for readers.
If you choose this method of retaining your readers, you risk being ridiculed in the industry. If word gets around, you could risk losing even more potential leads for your e-mail listings. To gain respect and eventually, a loyal following for your blog, promote it with your visitors' interests in mind.

For the Marketers!
Those of you that follow this blog and are in the marketing business online, there were two new safelist mailers launched this past week that are proving to be good CTR result mailers. It is difficult to determine at first for, the new ones usually get good response...unless they are pure garbage. One of the owners of these I know personally and can trust the mailer..the other will be proven in time.

How sad the way people act sometimes!
I was devastated to hear on the news of the racial and cruel slurs that came about from this little boy singing his heart out. He is a child! Wetback, illegal, taco-bender, gut-eater, beaner, mexican singing the national anthem...???? What is wrong with people here in the U.S. lately? Why don't we just take down the Statue of Liberty, for it seems to have no meaning anymore. I can see targeting some drug cartel, gangster, or truly illegal alien that comes here only to find work and send all their money home without paying taxes here. These are issues all on their own...but a kid? I pray for you pathetic, sad little people.
UPDATE: From a follower or friend.. The the haters got blasted online. The kid came back the next game to sing again and got a standing ovation! Both coaches came out to meet him. In an interview he seemed pretty happy. Yeah, we have some real idiots and racists. They lost this time.Thank you for this update.

The "Way-Back" Attic
I remember this like it was yesterday! Recently, there has been a mild resurgence of psychedelic music. A festival being held near where I live brought together many of the old artists and bands. A life long friend of mine , now very famous with another band, brought back his own psychedelic band for a reunion for the first time in more than 40 years. It was a gas!

What a Crock!
From API today:
FEMA denies aid to Texas for blast
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is refusing to provide money to help rebuild the small Texas town where a deadly fertilizer plant explosion leveled numerous homes and a school, and killed 15 people.
According to a letter obtained by The Associated Press, FEMA says it reviewed the state's appeal for the funds to help West. But the agency says the impact from the explosion "is not of the severity and magnitude that warrants a major disaster declaration."
West Mayor Tommy Muska says the money is needed to cover $57 million in damage, including $40 million to rebuild a destroyed school. The West Fertilizer Co. blew up in April.
They have money to throw away on building their so called camps but not to help rebuild a destroyed town? I don't buy the concentration camp theory but I do know that, FEMA, naturally, is the shadow government which will run the show after the puppet government dissolves through a series of executive orders issued by the President. For this reason I don't buy the concept. The idea that FEMA could pull off such a masterstroke is surprisingly widespread, considering their massive display of incompetence during Hurricane Katrina.
Just my opinion. They are obviously ridiculous with their decisions though.

"1984" has become a reality! Surprise...Surprise!
All day yesterday, the news was inundated with reports on the NSA "Whistleblower" and the now discovered data gathering center south of Salt Lake City in Utah. This is some big surprise? It has grown more and more as time has passed and we all knew it was happening. You cannot go anywhere now with out looking at a camera...even in the bathrooms as far as one can guess. Granted, security measures are necessary and prevents crime, terrorism and other threats that could infect society and freedom. Is the government going too far? Who knows, but there isn't a thing anyone can do about it. When a person agrees to take a job and go under contract with security clearance, it is a sign of cowardice to break that "vow" they took and leak information, regardless of how important they believe it to be. This really does endanger us all and SHOULD be a crime. The information, if true, was frightening but still does not justify breaking their vow. It is the end times maybe...or George Orwell was a prophet...I do not know. Is Big Brother watching? Probably...but why worry about it?
It can help, hurt, destroy freedom and insure freedom as well. It is, more than likely, necessary.
I was always curious as to why the government can look up a bug's butt from outer space but had no idea where Osama Bin Laden was...hmmmm.....I think not. We will never know for sure.
The fact remains that we are all being monitored and data recorded with all of our activities, be it phone calls, text messages or just basic activities online. They are storing this information, as reported or leaked or whatever, in a huge facility in Utah until they know what they want to do with this information. The upside of this is it will prevent many attacks on our freedom and capture criminals and terrorists, hopefully before they can act. The downside is they determine what is considered good or bad, a threat or not, criminal or normal and we have no control of this decision. Just how it is folks so learn to live with it.
I remember many years ago, driving in west Texas and seeing a military "hummer" driving out in the middle of nowhere all alone...then disappeared off the face of the earth. I had to chuckle and think sneaky aren't we. I have seen the convoy of trucks carrying the supposed FEMA coffins going down the road in the middle of the night and wondered where they were going.I know there is a tribulation coming and possibly even genocide one day. I still have faith in God and faith in this country though and am not really concerned what they are doing. I am proud to live here and would not want to live anywhere else, regardless of what happens. I am sure there are many things going on that we still do not know about and really do not want to know. National Security is important and leaks like this do cause damage but it is a multi-faceted world we live in. If your computer can turn on in the night for an update, why can't it turn the camera on as well and watch what you are doing? Digital television has the capability of sending and receiving , so it is possible for someone to be watching you while you are watching the TV...ok...watch away! I am positive this blog post will be recorded and saved somewhere..go ahead. I made this public for a reason for no matter what is going on... this is still the greatest country in the world and am still proud to be an American!

"Yuck-Yuck" Time
Some dumb jokes just for fun.
Let's face it people...if we don't have fun once in awhile, the world becomes too heavy and people go out and buy guns to go to schools or movie theaters or ask their Doctor for stronger prescriptions!
(Q.) Did you hear about the kidnapping? (A). Yeah, he woke up!
Know why a room full of married people looks so empty? There's not a Single person in it!
Police station toilet stolen - cops have nothing to go on!
(Q.) Where do you find a one legged dog? (A). Where you left it.
What do you call a fish with no eyes? - A fsh
How do crazy people go through the forest?... They take the psycho path!
Until the next time my friends!

A new tattoo idea that is demented and psychotic!
I usually do not post things like this but this has to be the most
absurd thing I believe I have ever seen in my life! The things people do these days absolutely leave me flabbergasted. Right on the ol' knot! OMG!! Who is going to even see this thing..oh..never mind. The same kind of "freak" that would have this done anyway.

Tips
Scuffed or Stained suede?...Use a fingernail emery board.
Tired of all those dryer sheets?...Throw a tennis ball into the dryer for same effect.
Broken zipper?...Use velcro on the inside flap of the fly. Will hold all day.
Lost a button at work?...Peel the paper off of a twist tie and thread the wire through the holes to secure the button. Will remain unseen.
Cleaning your computer monitor
A computer is a significant investment. It’s amazing how it looks so beautiful when you first bring it home and yet how quickly the screen can accumulate fingerprints and smudges, especially if you have kids. Most monitors now are LCD, or flat panel monitors. You would think you could spray some Windex or other glass cleaner onto the screen and be all set, but put down the spray bottle as this can significantly damage the monitor. Here are some tips on cleaning your computer monitor:
1. Turn off the computer or display.
2. Dampen a clean, soft, lint-free cloth or paper with water only. The softer the cloth the better.
3. Wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen.
You may also use a mild glass cleaner that contains no alcohol or ammonia. Most office supply stores sell cleaning kits specifically designed for this purpose.
While there are many commercial products available that will work without damaging the plastics, Apple has tested a product called Klear Screen made by Meridrew Enterprises (http://www.klearscreen.com) and found it does not cause any harm to the plastics.

Bitcoins- Another really bad idea!
"Bitcoin (BTC) is a cryptocurrency first described in a 2008 paper by pseudonymous developer Satoshi Nakamoto, who called it a peer-to-peer, electronic cash system. Bitcoin creation and transfer is based on an open source cryptographic protocol and is not managed by any central authority. Each bitcoin is subdivided down to eight decimal places, forming 100 million smaller units called satoshis. Bitcoins can be transferred through a computer or smartphone without an intermediate financial institution.
The processing of Bitcoin transactions is secured by servers called bitcoin miners. These servers communicate over an internet-based network and confirm transactions by adding them to a ledger which is updated and archived periodically using peer-to-peer filesharing technology. In addition to archiving transactions, each new ledger update creates some newly-minted bitcoins. The number of new bitcoins created in each update is halved every 4 years until the year 2140 when this number will round down to zero. At that time no more bitcoins will be added into circulation and the total number of bitcoins will have reached a maximum of 21 million bitcoins.
Bitcoin is accepted in trade by merchants and individuals in many parts of the world. Similar to other currencies, illicit drug and gambling transactions constitute some of its commercial usage. Although the bitcoin is promoted as a digital currency, many commentators have criticized the bitcoin's volatile exchange rate, relatively inflexible supply, and minimal use in trade." from Bitcoin-Wikipedia
The dollar is currency whereas the bitcoin is what people HOPE will someday be a currency. Any sane government will stop before this becomes a real option.
The real problem with bitcoins is simple. The "Flintstones" used rocks as currency in the cartoon and the bitcoin is equal to rocks. Anyone can create limited numbers of a product and attempt to get others to accept it as currency. The problem is, government defines what is currency and not the people.
Think of this in the simplest of terms. Right now I can pick up a pile of rocks and go out and enter any gambling event I want... as long as they are only gambling with rocks and not with real legal tender.
When people start accepting those rocks as legal tender, how does a government control that? How do they stop the gambling they have outlawed online for example? How do they stop a pervert from using it to as a means of buying child porn that goes undetected because they are not taxed and since they are rocks, can't be taxed, as the government does not accept rocks as legal tender.
See everyone likes to compare bitcoins to gold. The problem is gold is NOT legal tender. You can't go to the store and spend gold like money for a purchase. The reason being is gold cannot be taxed. This is why there are no taxes when transferring gold to dollars. The government recognizes that the gold does have value and thus they EQUATE it to legal tender, meaning you CAN transfer it.
Because bitcoins do not have this separation and are being used as tender... they are much different. They either will eventually HAVE TO BE regulated by governments or they should be outlawed. This is the only way that I can see bitcoins remaining possible. I do still believe is another very bad idea and am still against one world government and money and believe this is part of the great whore that is coming. I, for one, am keeping a watchful eye.

Downline Poaching by Online Marketers is BULL!
There are always practices online that make me ill and "poaching" is one of them! Not unlike some joker getting impatient with putting a line in the water and waiting to catch a fish, they throw dynamite in the water to harvest their catch. Another example is someone that trespasses and without a permit or permission, shoots a deer from a car window or the bumper of a truck.
The same practice is used often online for getting recruits or referrals. There are those that use someone elses downline and market to them with their little scams and programs that don't work, normally, and also legitimate programs as well. This is the personality of the person and not the program but is usually the same type of person that will scam someone. When a person is a member of some program online and is building a list with referrals, it is unacceptable for that program owner to use this person's list to promote other products or programs to. There is another unethical practice with this style of marketing and that is to use a chat room for a program and go directly to individuals and promote to them outside of that room or program. There are more than likely downline builders within these programs that someone else would get the referral from and this is just plain and simple...THEFT! If you are an online marketer and someone approaches you to join or buy something, make sure this program or product is not already offered through what you are already a member of. It is only the correct and fair way to do things, for you would not want this happening to you.
This practice will not stop but hope this post throws a wrench in the unscrupulous machine and makes people aware of what is going on more and more everyday.
